Samsung has gained ground against the rest of the competition with its line of high definition televisions is a fact (even the almighty Sony uses this Korean manufacturer panels). But that does not cease to surprise the market. Now they’ve made a new 40-inch LCD screen with LED backlight and a striking feature: its thickness. We’re used to its line LED, very thin, but not to the point of this Samsung Slim Needle, which has only 3.9 mm.

Samsung’s high-end landscape slider that has been rumoured since January this year.
The 4 row slider, as is usual these days, pretty well specified, with a 3.5 inch AMOLED WVGA screen, 5 megapixel camera with image stabilization and the usual HSDPA, wifi, bluetooth and GPS, all packed into only 1.6 cm thickness. It also features 1 GB Flash built in and a microSD slot, and Samsung seems to finally have abandoned their proprietary connector, opting for the more common miniUSB.
